Aberdeen mailing list web pages moved

I can't easily edit the pages in their old site so I've moved them to Google Pages. The new address of the Aberdeen Football Club mailing list is http://aberdeenlist.googlepages.com/.

The look is different but the content is pretty much unchanged apart from removing a few broken links. I'll try and find some time to bring it up to date.

Btw I also briefly looked at Google Groups in case it would make sense to move the list itself. First impressions are it wouldn't be a suitable replacement but I'll give it a closer look some time. I would of course poll the list for opinions before embarking on such a move.

Aberdeen Mailing List

Adding a link here to the Aberdeen Mailing List web pages because I noticed they don't show up on Google.

This surprised me because they've been around a long time but actually maybe that's probably the problem. They haven't been updated for about 5 years! Google probably thinks they're stale and has removed them from the index.

I'll see if I can remember how to update them when I get a chance.

New Universal Remote

Got my new universal remote yesterday. It's the Harmony 885 (right) and it replaces my old Kameleon One For All 6 (far right).

First of all it has a charging station so I no longer need to get the screwdriver out to change the batteries a couple of times a week.

Secondly it's really easy to use. The Activities based functions are very straightforward and useful. Just select Watch PVR and it switches on the TV (on the right input), the Sky+ box and the amp and switches off everything else. The feel is much nicer too. It's nice to press real buttons again.

Thirdly it controls all my kit, which is currently: Toshiba 32WLT66; D-Link DSM-320RD; Sky+; Dreambox 7000-S; PlayStation 2; Sony STR-DE495P. Sky HD is due the week after next.

Customization is a breeze compared to the Kameleon. I think I still have some more to do to get it to do exactly what I want but that's half the fun, isn't it?

If you're in the market for one then I highly recommend it. I got mine from Komplett for £129.
